In a world full of constantly evolving threats, it is as important as ever to remain diligent about your personal information, especially when it comes to your finances.
Below, we've compiled a number of different resources to help keep you and your finances safe from fraud, as well as what you can do in the event you're a victim of a recent fraud situation.
Ways to Determine If You're Being Targeted
Scammers will use any and all ways they can to trick you into sharing your personal information. It's important to be aware of methods and tactics that will be used to try and steal your information.
- Being told it's urgent and must be taken care of immediately
- Being pressured to send money, gift cards or other forms of payment
- Asking for vital account and financial information
- Promotions or giveaways that are just too good to be true
- Individuals posing as legitimate businesses, often spoofing the phone numbers to make it seem like it's actually the business making the call
How to Protect Yourself
- Never share vital account information
- Do not click on unsolicited eMails or answer spam calls or text messages
- Don't wait to report any suspicious activity on your accounts
- Utilize services like Secure Checking w/ IDProtect and SavvyMoney to help keep a close eye on your credit report
If you suspect you're a victim of fraud or identity theft, contact us at 800.837.4562 immediately, so we can review and assist you in further protecting you and your account.
We will never contact you directly to request any of the following:
- Social Security Number
- Digital Banking Credentials, including username or passwords
- 2-Factor Verification Codes
- Credit or Debit Card Numbers, including CVV numbers
- Address
- Date of Birth
While you may receive a call from our payments department for unusual activity on your LOC card(s), we will not ask for information such as your password, CVV or expiration date.
